Former Chief White House Economist on GOP Economic Agenda for 2024

INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Casey Mulligan, Former Chief Economist of the White House Council of Economic Advisers (2018-19).

On a recent Price of Business Show, Host Kevin Price visited with economist Casey B. Mulligan about a recent presentation he gave.
Dr. Casey B. Mulligan, former Chief Economist of the White House Council of Economic Advisers (2018-19) recently spoke to the Republican Party’s Platform Committee on economic reform.
Regarding that event, Mulligan wrote in the Washington Times: “Remember when Barack Obama was president? His administration set low expectations with its “secular stagnation” theory. The U.S. economy could not be great again, they said. The Affordable Care Act and the mislabeled stimulus law created dozens of new ways to discourage work and the health and human capital that goes with work.
“When the Trump economy got people back to work with good wages, critics called it a short-lived sugar high that would stoke inflation. But in fact, it would be less than 2%.

The U.S. economy was on a path to make the American dream affordable again for families, young people, everyone. The GOP platform promises to finish the job.

According to the NY Times, “Mulligan is affiliated with a number of professional organizations, including the National Bureau of Economic Research, the George J. Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State, and the Population Research Center. He is also the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including those from the National Science Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Smith- Richardson Foundation, and the John M. Olin Foundation.

“Professor Mulligan received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1993. He has also served as a visiting professor teaching public economics at Harvard University, Clemson University, and Irving B. Harris Graduate School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago.”
