Parry will discuss:
· Writing 20th century historical fiction that both entertains and conveys something urgent about our 21st century world.
· Inspired by the untold stories of Russia in World War II and the Cold War, Parry writes so that readers will understand the history of those times and also the grim reality of despotic power.
· Using a combination of fact and fiction, Parry shows how dictatorship destroys freedom, justice, and equality. This is important today where democracies and democratic institutions are increasingly under attack by authoritarian forces.
