T-11 Paraplegic Inspires Canadian Father-in-Law to Find & Fund Cure

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Dr. Harold Punnett.
What was the catalyst for the formation of NervGen Pharma, a Canadian company focused on nerve generation? Codi, the daughter-in-law of Dr. Harold Punnett, a Vancouver, BC-based dentist, fell into a hole and the integrity of her spinal cord did not survive the trauma. Codi, who was named Vancouver Mom Blogger of the Year, remains a complete T-11 paraplegic. Harold embarked on a neuroscience literature search and networking effort to find any way to improve Codi’s condition as reported by Codi in her acclaimed Help Codi Heal blog.
“While I found there were no therapeutics available to promote nerve regeneration, I did come across the promising technology invented by Dr. Jerry Silver, a spinal cord injury and regenerative medicine researcher and professor at Case Western Reserve University,” says Dr. Punnett. “I learned that Dr. Silver had uncovered the ability to revolutionize the treatment of nerve damage so we created NervGen with the singular mission to commercialize this incredible technology.”
Dr. Punnett became a co-founder and active investor for NervGen Pharma where he remains committed to finding a cure for Codi.
